Girl (or Boy), it isn’t about becoming, but un-becoming.

This past year gave us so much time to think, right? Lol. And the biggest thing on my mind was “What do you want out of life? What do you want to do?” It’s a journey of deep thinking and self searching. I thought “Hmm. I want to change, I want to be different in certain aspects of my life. I want to be like this and like that…” But then I stopped and thought, maybe the journey isn’t about becoming, but about un-becoming.

As humans, it’s natural and easy to be who we think we need or should be. Or we become a certain way because life handed us certain situations that made us become these types of people. It can happen on purpose, but for the most part, it happens without us even noticing (until someone points it out to us). So much will change when you start being open and honest about who you are and want. Maybe you don’t want to be the strict, stick to the calendar, everything has to be perfect kind of person anymore. Maybe you want to be fun and chill and adventurous again. Once you un-become who you truly aren’t, a whole new life will start.

You no longer send out energy full of desperation and unhappiness or have the need to be filled from the outside, in. You become a energy source full of confidence and love. And for the first time, probably since childhood, you let go of the constant need for approval and validation. You go back to living all your moments and exploring opportunities with that childhood braveness, that most of us slowly lost. You begin to love yourself and the life you are living. So let’s be honest and open with ourselves about who we are, what we need and what we want out of life. It’s a journey, unbecoming who you aren’t, but it’s a beautiful one at the end.
